Already old enough to graduate??

This weekend we traveled to Baldwin, Wisconsin, for my brother’s graduation. Can you believe it?? Luke is old enough to graduate already! We are so proud of him and his accomplishments!

We had a great weekend. Kaleb and I left Thursday afternoon in-order to help my mom prepare food and get things setup for the graduation party that took place Saturday afternoon. Ann, my cousin Bennett, and his girlfriend Heather (or in Kaleb’s words, Feater), all came together on Friday. We also had some other family join us for the weekend. The graduation party was a success. It was great to see many of Luke’s friends and their parents congratulate him. Old high school friends of mine, Eric Bjornstad and John Danielson, also drove down for a brief visit. It was a great time!

Luke and his girlfriend, Jess, are going to be attending Minnesota State University Moorhead this fall. Jess is a regular part of our family and we are elated that they have both decided on MSUM, as it’s only a few minutes away rather than a few hours. My mom also plans on a move to the Fargo-Moorhead area this summer. Again, we are elated to have “Bama Barb” close by.

Sunday was a beautiful day spent at Como Zoo in St. Paul with family.

Another fun filled weekend!

It sure would be nice if it didn’t feel like fall around here however.

Kaleb had a blast on Saturday with Joycee. Carole, Joycee’s mommy, was here from Bismarck for a baby shower and left Joycee with Ann and Kaleb for the morning while I was working. Kaleb had a blast! Ann had a bit of a challenge when she decided to take both of them to the park. When it was time to leave, Kaleb was crying because he bumped is head and Joycee was crying because she wasn’t ready to leave.

Today we spent the morning at church. Kaleb decided that he wasn’t going to take his nap today so we played outside, went for a bike ride down to the river and back, played outside some more and after dinner we took Maggie to the dog park.

Next weekend we are off to Wisconsin to celebrate my brother’s high school graduation. Where has all the time gone?

A Beautiful Spring Day!

It was a beautiful day in the Red River Valley. Things are slowly returning to normal after our magnificent flood fight. There are still miles of dikes that have yet to be removed, however, they are slowly coming down.

We spent most of the afternoon doing what Kaleb wanted to do. We took him to the Rotary Centennial Park in Fargo, or better known in Kaleb’s terms as the “Big Park.” He had a blast running around in his own little world on the large playground and chasing after other kids.

After we left the “Big Park,” we made our routine Sunday trip to Target. We then grilled out and played outside more. Kaleb’s favorite thing to do right now is to load up his little wheelbarrow with rocks from one flower bed and haul them to another. Sometimes he decides that the rocks need to go for a walk over to our neighbor Trent and Elaine’s house.

We are grateful for a healthy active little boy. There is no greater joy than to see a smile on his shining face. God has truly blessed us.
