Home sick again... day 3!
Kaleb was home sick again today. No more throw-ups, just severe diarrhea. He was a little more active today than he was yesterday, but still didn’t eat or drink worth a darn.
Twice today, while we were playing with his Thomas trains he filled his pants, and being as liquidy as it was, it made some pretty funny sounds. As soon as it happened, he would look at me with the most innocent blue eyes and say, “q me”, his version of “excuse me.” I then would ask him if he pooped is pants and he would quickly reply by shaking his head and saying, “no.” Within about 30 seconds he would then say, “Daddy, poop in my diaper, change it pwease.” Usually before the blow-outs would occur, he was hold is tummy and say, “Daddy, my tummy hurt, kith it.”
He woke up this morning with a fairly dry diaper and had dry diapers all day with the exception of diarrhea. A Children’s Clinic nurse advised us to come in immediately if he didn’t have a wet diaper within eight hours. After his nap and another dry diaper, we made a trip to the Children’s Clinic. The whole way there he kept saying, “My see doctor, my get shot.” They ended up taking blood to check his electrolyte and potassium levels. The results came back looking pretty good considering. Praise God.
Today was a little better than yesterday. We hope tomorrow is a little better than today. As a parent, it’s extremely difficult to watch your child be in pain and suffer.
